چکیده

We construct an approximation of the free space Green’s function for the Helmholtz equation that splits the application of this operator between the spatial and the Fourier domains, as in Ewald’s method for evaluating lattice sums. In the spatial domain we convolve with a sum of decaying Gaussians with positive coefficients and, in the Fourier domain, we multiply by a band-limited kernel. As a part of our approach, we develop new quadratures appropriate for the singularity of Green’s function in the Fourier domain. The approximation and quadratures yield a fast algorithm for computing volumetric convolutions with Green’s function in dimensions two and three. The algorithmic complexity scales as Oðjd logjþ Cðlog 1ÞÞ, where is selected accuracy, j is the number of wavelengths in the problem, d is the dimension, and C is a constant. The algorithm maintains its efficiency when applied to functions with singularities. In contrast to the Fast Multipole Method, as j ! 0, our approximation makes a transition to that of the free space Green’s function for the Poisson equation. We illustrate our approach with examples. 2008 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Fast convolution with free-space Green's functions

We introduce a fast algorithm for computing volume potentials that is, the convolution of a translation invariant, free-space Green’s function with a compactly supported source distribution defined on a uniform grid. The algorithm relies on regularizing the Fourier transform of the Green’s function by cutting off the interaction in physical space beyond the domain of interest. This permits the ...

Phase Unwrapping for Interferometric SAR Using Helmholtz Equation Eigenfunctions and the First Green's Identity

{ We modify the Green's formulation for In-SAR phase unwrapping by using the Green's function as a series in the eigenfunctions of the Helmholtz equation that ensures a closed-form solution using 2D FFT's.

Using mean-field and semi-classical approximation of Thomas-Fermi, within a statistical model, equation of state and critical properties of symmetric nuclear matter is studied.  In this model, two body and phenomenological interaction of Myers and Swiatecki is used in phase space. Phase Unwrapping for Interferometric SAR Using Helmholtz

We develop a new algorithm for interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) phase unwrapping based on the rst Green's identity with the Green's function representing a series in the eigenfunc-tions of the two-dimensional Helmholtz homogeneous diierential equation. This provides closed-form solutions using one-or two-dimensional Fast Fourier Transforms. The algorithm is elaborated using adapti...

$L^p$-Conjecture on Hypergroups

In this paper, we study $L^p$-conjecture on locally compact hypergroups and by some technical proofs we give some sufficient and necessary conditions  for a weighted Lebesgue space  $L^p(K,w)$ to be a convolution Banach algebra, where $1<p<infty$, $K$ is a locally compact hypergroup and $w$ is a weight function on $K$.  Among the other things, we also show that if $K$ is a locally compact hyper...
